3 Serious Issues Caused by Tech Neck

These 3 problems are on the rise from increased time on our phones and computers – tech neck is the culprit.
Tech Neck is the Future
Tech Neck, as it is called, is becoming more common because of how we connect with friends, get our news, and do our work.
There is little chance that we are going to be using our phones less in the future so let’s figure out how to stop suffering and stay healthy using them.
First, the good news:
Your body is designed perfectly to have your head balanced atop your shoulders and above your hips. This posture takes very little energy for your body to maintain. We feel good and have energy.
Now for the bad:
When we look down at our phones our head carries forward, our body’s go out of balance and use more energy to hold that poor posture. We feel worse and become fatigued.
The muscles in your neck and shoulders get more tense and the bones in the neck shift and stop moving the way they are intended too.
Since your spine protects the spinal cord and your nerves, when the bones shift, the nerves can get irritated and effect how we feel and function.
That increased tension on the muscles and nerves causes the following:
- Neck pain, sharp or dull
- Tension headaches that radiate from the neck into the head
- Pinched nerves and pain, numbness, and tingling in the arms
Too frequently people may develop theses problems and just learn to suffer with them or mask the pain with painkillers or anti-inflammatory medication.
This just leads to accepting the inevitable side effects in return for meager reductions in pain and a mild increase in comfort.
Tech Neck Doesn’t Have to Be Our Future
We understand neck problems because we deal with them every day, it’s one of the things we’ve specialized in treating in for the past 14 years.
When you meet with us we will have an opportunity to hear about the problems you have been experiencing. And then determine what can be done to completely solve or to alleviate some of the symptoms.
Many people are surprised to learn that a combination of therapies can significantly reduce the symptoms as they have never been offered these solutions before.
We use tests that determine functional problems with the spine and nerve system to assess if there is a problem that can be helped by our methods.
